What to Choose? Blogger or Wordpress?

In my blogging experience of about 8+ years I've seen many new as well as old confused bloggers those are still confused what to choose between Blogger and Wordpress? If you reach this article, you may have already seen tons of discussions about the same topic but still clueless. Well to be honest, let me clarify this first that Blogger is better then Wordpress and Wordpress is better then blogger ;-) Tricky? isn't it??

First, let me clarify one thing that Blogger is better then any version of Wordpress, whether self hosted or hosted by wordpress itself. Blogger has many advantages that we'll discuss in my next post, so let stick to the comparison between the both Blogger and Wordpress.

Well your choice is totally dependable on the usage and purpose of your site. No one can compare the both platforms as both of them are totally awesome. Let me clear one more thing that I'm talking about the self hosted version of wordpress and not the one hosted by Wordpress itself, that version totally sucks. Blogger is far far away better then the wordpress hosted version of wordpress.

Well as I've already mentioned that both platforms has their own advantages and disadvantages, the biggest difference is the SEO and Security in both Platforms. Lets talk about the Search Engine Optimization first.

Well as everyone knows that Blogger is the product of google, and google is the biggest Search Engine and number1 ranking website in the world, so how can they leave the SEO function in one of their core product, I mean Blogger?? Well many past years Google is changing their whole scenario of Search Engine Algorithms, so let me tell you that the Search Engine Optimization is not heavily dependable on Meta Tags  and Keywords anymore now. So if any of you compare about the Meta Tags and Keywords function of both Blogger and Wordpress, then this must be a new thing that you keep in your mind.

I took a short survey about the SEO of Blogger and Wordpress and 90% of bloggers voted in favour of Wordpress, while its true that Wordpress's SEO structure is better then Blogger, but still blogger is not in the big disadvantage because of its big brother Google. Google always favours Blogger Blogs over Wordpress. I've seen many newly created blogs with higher search rankings and the managed to get PR2 and PR3 in couple of months. This shows that Google give huge benefits to the Blogger users just to break the monopoly created by Wordpress.

Surety & Security:

Well its a common perception that Wordpress is secure then Blogger and Blogger shuts down any Blogger Blog without any reason anytime. Well can you imagine that Google dislikes to see its blog getting traffic and getting famous? Will Google try to take it down without any reason? Well the answer must be NO, Not at all. Because Google will always loves to see its product getting famous and it'll make more reputation in eyes of others. Well let me tell you that Google is one of the biggest hater and enemy of spam and remain on standby against any spammer, if you're more of a Spammer then the Blogger, then Google must handle you like a criminal and will shut down your blog. Spamming is the biggest reason behind every crackdown, so as far as you are not spamming, you can consider your self safer then ever. And as far as Security reason is concerned, I don't wanna discuss on it because everyone knows how powerful and safe Google's hosting servers are.. :)

Ease of Use:

Well nothing new to tell, everyone's familiar with the easy of use of Blogger platform, nothing to worry about the hosting, downtime, bandwidth limit, space and slow browsing issue. Google has hosted Bloggers blogs on one of the mst powerful servers, so its a huge benefit. Google gives negative marking to the slow websites, so if you're hosting you own Wordpress site, then you might face slow browsing issue and sometimes server down issue. Google really hates these things and punishes these websites. So if you are using Blogger, 90% of your tensions and worries are carried down by Google itself :)

Making Money:

The major reason for blogging is the "Money". Yes 90% of bloggers loves blogging because they want to earn some extra passive income, so if you're one of those, then there's nothing better then blogger. Blogger has a builtin feature of Monetizing your blog, so you can directly apply for Adsense through your blog, all you need is a good blog with quality content and you'll be on your way. Adsense is the most demanded and famous source of income on internet, so stay on blogger if you want to take this biggest advantage of Blogging and Blogger:)

So all in al, all I can say and proved that Blogger is much much better then Wordpress :)
